Simpson Faces Top Seed EOU in NAIA Volleyball Opening Round

The Simpson Red Hawks, Cal Pac regular season and Continental Athletic Conference tournament champions, are in the NAIA women's volleyball championship field for the first time in school history. They drew the top overall seed - #1 Eastern Oregon - in the opening round with the first serve on Saturday, Nov. 22, in La Grande, OR.

Simpson (17-16 overall) went 9-1 in Cal Pac play and fought through the CAC tourney field to capture their first automatic NAIA bid. Eastern Oregon (28-2; 18-2) took both the regular season and tournament titles in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Mountaineers played one of the nation's top schedules, facing 25 opponents ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA national poll.

Opening round winners advance to NAIA final-site action in Sioux City, Iowa, from Dec. 9-13.
