Simpson downs Central Christian on Day One of the Cal Pac Seeding Jamboree

MATCH 1:

Simpson put on a dominant performance defeating Central Christian in four sets on day one of the 2026 Cal Pac Seeding Jamboree.

The Central Christian Tigers won the first set of the match to establish their presence in the tournament. 

The Red Hawks would win the next three sets in convincing fashion 25-14, 25-18, 25-15 and was led by freshman outside hitter Dehryn Brown who had 23 kills, 3 assists, 3 assists and six digs. Akira Davies also added 12 kills, 5 digs and 8 service aces earning 23 points. Tyce Nakamura held down the backline with 31 assists, 8 digs and 2 kills. 

Central Christian's Stephen Barnes led the Tigers with 12 kills, 7 digs and four service aces. Defensive Specialist Jesse Espinoza added 9 assists, 16 digs and 1 service aces.

The Tigers will face Cal Pac regular season champion #7 Westcliff in Match 3 starting at 2pm. Simpson will play Walla Walla in Match 4 at 4:30pm.
