NAIA Cross Country Championship Preview
The NAIA Cross Country National Championships will take off at 5:30 a.m. PST this Friday, Nov. 18, at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla., when the men's 8k begins. Immediately after that race, the women's 5k will start at 6:30 a.m. PST. The men's event will see 36 teams and 78 individuals competing while the women's race will have 36 teams and 80 individuals in the field.
Both Embry-Riddle cross country teams earned the California Pacific Conference's automatic bid to their respective national race. For the men, this is the ninth consecutive team title for the Eagles as well as their ninth straight appearance in the NAIA Championship. Additionally, four runners from the Cal Pac also will run in the race: Cal Pac individual champion Jonathan Chavez, Noah Vasquez, and Sharvin Manjrekar of UC Merced, and Soka's Jordan Bravo.
On the women's side, the Eagles, ranked No. 14 in the NAIA, garnered their eighth straight conference title and advanced to the national meet for the eighth consecutive year. Joining ERAU in Florida are four UC Merced runners who qualified from the Cal Pac Championship: Alexandra Lopez, Anjanessa Ward, Carissa Estrada, and Elizette Ysais.

- The defending national champion, Milligan (Tenn.), returns to the championship field in 2022 as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament Winner.
- Defending individual champion, Alyssa Bearzi of Milligan (Tenn.), returns to the field with her team.
- There are 10 teams in the 2022 championship field with 10 appearances at a championship since 2010: College of Idaho, Lewis-Clark State (Idaho), Milligan (Tenn.), Aquinas (Mich.), Carroll (Mont.), Dordt (Iowa), Indiana Wesleyan, St. Francis (Ill.), Oklahoma City, Olivet Nazarene (Ill.)
- There are two teams in the 2022 championship field that are making their first appearance from 2010-2022: Dillard (La.), Truett McConnell (Ga.)
