WU Splits with Park
With rainouts and postponements, only one doubleheader was completed last week when Westcliff split a pair of games with visiting Park-Gilbert on Friday. The Warriors, 12-14, dropped the opener 8-6 despite a strong offensive showing from Alyssa Patlan, who went 3-for-3 and drove in two runs. Rachel Varela, Siana San Vicente, and Lauren Coppla each contributed two hits. The Warrior bats stayed hot in the second game, a 7-5 win over the Buccaneers. Madison Mendez went the distance in the circle, allowing three earned runs and striking out nine. She also drove home two runs with a single in the 1st inning. Varela and Coppla against finished with two hits.
