2024 Women’s Volleyball All-Cal Pac Teams

Throughout the 2024 season, UC Merced has dominated the action on the court, so it is not great surprise that the Bobcats dominated the individual honors on the All-California Pacific Conference teams.  Conference coaches voted for of the seven individual awards to UCM while four of the 14 spots on the First and Second Teams went to Bobcats.

The Player of the Year is UCM's Sera Riley, a junior outside hitter who guided her team to a 14-1 Cal Pac record, the regular season title, and the top seed in the postseason tournament.  The Yorba Linda, Calif., native was a major offensive threat, ranking second in the conference in Kills per Set (3.61) and Kills (289), but what made her stand out was her overall ability to impact a match.  Riley, an Honorable Mention in 2023, ranked 7th in Digs (247) and Digs per Set (3.09), and she is 2nd in Points per Set (4.2).

The Cal Pac's Attacker of the Year is Riley's teammate, Alexa Ultreras.  And like her teammate, Ultreras played a key role on both offensive and defensive attacks.  The senior outside hitter ranks among the conference's leaders in every offensive category:  Kills (237), Kills per Set (2.89), Service Aces per Set (0.43), Digs (267), Digs per Set (3.26), and Points per Set (3.5).  She was a Second Team selection in 2023.

UCM's Kyra Miller is the Setter of the Year after turning in consistently stellar performances throughout the season.  The sophomore setter directed an offense that overpowered opponents and dropped only seven sets in 15 conference matches.  Miller led the Cal Pac in Assists per Set (7.42).

The fourth Bobcat honored by the conference coaches is UCM head coach Ai Prachumsri, who receives his first recognition as the top coach after guiding the Bobcats to their highest conference and overall win totals as well as the program's first regular season title.

La Sierra's Ava Himstreet was voted the Defender of the Year for the second consecutive season.  The junior from San Antonio, Tex., received the honor in 2023 when she was competing for Westcliff, and this Fall she has been just as spectacular, leading the Cal Pac in Digs (467) and Digs per Set (5.13), which ranks among the top 10 in conference history.  Himstreet is also a two-time All-Cal Pac First Team member.

The Newcomer of the Year is Westcliff's Samantha Carelock, who was a consistent threat in the Warrior offense.  The junior right side hitter topped the Cal Pac in Kills (350) and Kills per Set (3.68) on an offense that struggled to outscore opponents.

The Cal Pac Freshman of the Year is La Sierra's Julissa Rodriguez.  The freshman outside hitter finished with 112 kills, 1.26 per set, and added 56 total blocks for the playoff-bound Golden Eagles.

Three other individuals received repeat honors this Fall.  Providence Christian's Jacey Loewen was a Second Team pick in 2023 and earned First Team recognition this season after leading an offense that carried the Sea Beggars into the postseason.  LSU's Torri Lambert earned First Team honors this Fall after gaining Honorable Mention in 2023.  UCM's Destiny Lei Ramilo, a Second Team selection in 2023, made Honorable Mention this season.
